AZUSA YABE   LEED, AP

Ms. Yabe joined Renfro Design Group, Inc. in 2008. Ms. Yabe has a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics with a Minor in Mathematics. Her analytical skills developed during her undergraduate years combined with her artistic training from her early education led her towards an interest in Architecture. In 2003, she completed coursework in Architecture at the University of California in Los Angeles, where she was introduced to the field of Lighting Design. A few years later in 2006, she received a Master of Fine Arts degree in Architectural Lighting Design from Parsons School of Design in New York City.

Ms. Yabe’s recently completed projects include The Morgan Library and Museum renovation of the McKim Building in New York, NY;Cooper Hewitt, National Design Museum - Quicktake: Rodarte Exhibit in New York, NY and the Grand Teton National Park Visitor‘s Center Auditorium in Moose, Wyoming. Her current projects include the Sandridge Energy Masterplan in Oklahoma City, OK; The Islamic Galleries and the Book Conservation at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, NY; The Lakeside Center at Prospect Park in Brooklyn, NY; and the National September 11th Memorial Museum, Memorial Exhibition in New York, NY.

Prior to working at Renfro Design Group, Ms. Yabe’s professional lighting design experience includes two years at Brandston Partnership Inc. in New York City. While at Brandston, she contributed to large scale development projects in East Asia, which included the China World Trade Center (Phase II) in Beijing, China; Shenyang Zhongjie Hang Lung Retail Plaza Development in Shenyang, China; and Shangri-La Hotels in Mongolia.

Ms. Yabe is a LEED Accredited Professional and a member of the United States Green Building Council and the Designers Lighting Forum of New York.
