Renfro Design Group believes in the power of technology, and as such this site has been coded using the latest advances in HTML; namely, Cascading Style Sheets. This site will look much better in a browser that supports web standards, but it is accessible to any browser or Internet device.
Michael has been a Lighting Designer at Renfro Design Group since 2003. Michael received a Bachelor of Architectural Engineering degree in 1999 from Pennsylvania State University. Her technical knowledge and creative approach to problem solving has made her an asset to all aspects of the lighting design process. Michael is actively involved in such projects as 3 Columbus Circle, New York Historical Society, 1211 Avenue of the Americas, the Johnson Museum of Art, exhibit lighting for the Museum of Science and Industry, and a private gallery in Diamond Head, Hawaii.
Her work on the Bloch Building addition to the Nelson-Atkins Museum has received many prestigious awards in 2008, which include two Lumen Awards (an outdoor Award of Excellence and an interior Award of Merit) from the New York Chapter of the Illuminating Engineering Society, an interior Award of Merit from the IESNA, and an Outstanding Achievement Award from Architectural Lighting Magazine.
Prior to joining Renfro Design Group, Michael worked for Ann Kale Associates, where she contributed to the exterior lighting of the Essex County Courthouse, Essex, NJ; Trinity University, New Northrup Hall, San Antonio, TX; and Hudson River Park, New York, NY. Prior to Ann Kale Associates, she was a lighting designer at Syska & Hennessy in New York.
Michael is currently working toward NCQLP Lighting Certification, which she expects to attain in 2009.
